The Living Lab is a consortium in which parties are brought together around this important subject. The aim is to jointly conduct a pilot in which care and intervention are central, possibly based on one (set) vital measurement value (e.g. saturation) that runs through the entire chain. This offers the possibility to describe the 'customer journey' for the patient, the healthcare professional, the system integrator and the practitioner.
The Living Lab offers a solution for the elderly and chronically ill who can remain in their familiar environment when they need intensive care. This customization in care and nursing probably results in considerably less psychological stress for healthcare staff, family and patient. It ensures efficient deployment of people and equipment.
E-health makes it possible to provide care at a distance, meaning patients get more comfort and convenience in receiving medical care. It also eliminates the need for patients to go to the hospital or doctor's office, making care less time consuming and stressful. In addition, E-health can help reduce staff shortages by automating certain tasks, such as registering health data and monitoring the patient's situation and adjusting treatment where necessary.
Joost Nauta and Diederik Gommers have worked together on the development of E-health and its application in home care. In recent years, the use of digital technologies in healthcare has increased significantly and this trend is likely to continue in the coming years. The aim of their collaboration is to increase the quality of life of patients and to combat the shortage of healthcare personnel.
Joost Nauta, connector, experience expert and entrepreneur and founder of Juistwelthuis.
Diederik Gommers is a doctor with intensive care as a medical specialty. He works as an intensivist at the academic hospital Erasmus MC in Rotterdam.
